Soldat Map Maker

The Soldat Map Maker is a level editor developed for Soldat. This is one of the reasons why there are so many different types of maps in Soldat.

The standard game download comes with 84 different maps, but you still have to download new ones when playing online.

Because the game is in 2D, level designers just have to worry about what they see from the main view of the editor. Creating terrain features is really simple and easy. Coloring is also extremely simple, as Soldat uses only basic colors for its maps. Navigation with the mouse is really comfortable, and you can zoom in and out of the map. When adding a spawn point (object), you just select what type of object you want to add and drag it onto the terrain. There is also an option of creating waypoints for the map. Anyone can do a map with this editor, and that is just what has happened. There is a huge number of user-made maps available for the game and it is one of the reasons of its success.
